Water Shiatsu is the world’s first
form of aquatic bodywork. It is designed to utilize the
pressure points of Zen shiatsu in order to open up the nerve
pathways along the body’s meridians. The body is gently
moved and stretched by the practitioner in warm water, 35-36oC
(94-96 oF), which is the same temperature as the skin. This
gives the person a sense of deep relaxation as the
body merges into the surrounding warmth of the water. Muscles
relax and become pliable, as flexibility increases and more
freedom of movement is created. Pain virtually disappears
as the spine becomes more free in the weightless environment
of warm water.
The body is massaged
by the warmth of the water, both internally and externally.
A deep sense of peace is achieved. Water Shiatsu affects
every level of one’s being - physical, mental, emotional
and spiritual. Experiencing this level of freedom and flexibility
reprograms the receiver to face life itself with greater
flexibility and balance.
Let yourself be floated in
your healer's arms with the water gently lifting you each
time you inhale.
Its penetrating warmth melts
the tension of your body. As you drift into deeper and deeper
levels of relaxation, your body is stretched and becomes
freer and freer.
Flow into states of consciousness
into which stored tension of trauma otherwise deny access.
Reach a level of Being where
there is such joy, peace and wholeness, and where any tension
or trauma can no longer overwhelm.
